A sewer overflow relief device co-operable with a tube 120 in communication with a sewer so as to be lifted from the tube by rising liquid to provide overflow relief and including structure 20, 30, 60 defining a flow path along which air entering the sewer 5 moves upwardly past a valve element 72 configured to prevent gas escaping the sewer.
