Adjustable access stairway
The present invention provides an apparatus for facilitating the ascent and/or descent of a 5 worker or other user between two levels, the adjustable access stairway comprising a step having an upper face configured to receive a foot of a user, and an elongate step support member, wherein the step is connected to the elongate step support member such that the angle made by the step upper face with the longitudinal axis of the elongate step support member is alterable. The step may be is connected to the elongate step supportby means of 10 an adjustable step bracket, such that the angle made by the upper surface of the step with the longitudinal axis of the elongate member is alterable. The apparatus may be utilized as an adjustable access stairway capable of being configured within a range of angles of maximum and minimum degrees, the steps remaining horizontal for safety purposes by virtue of being adjustable. The present invention is useful alone, or in combination with auxiliary features 15 which may be fitted such as a protective handrailing system, and/or other apparatus such as an elevated service or maintenance platform system of adjustable height, to which the apparatus may be attached by means of additional components.
