APPARATUS FOR GENERATING A CURRENT IN A POOL A current generating device (100) for generating a current in a pool is provided. The current generating device has a device housing (102) adapted to be installed in a wall of the pool, with a front end (108) being generally flush with the wall of the pool. An intake zone (110) in the front end (108) of the device housing (102) and a discharge zone (114), smaller than the intake zone (110), in the front end (108) of the device housing (102) are both in fluid communication with the pool. A pump (126) is mounted in the device housing (102) having an intake side (132) in fluid communication with the intake zone (110) and a discharge side (134) in fluid communication with the discharge zone (114), the pump (126) having a pumping element (130) for expelling water into the pool via the discharge zone (114).
