Disclosed herein is a building formwork component. The building formwork component comprises first and second spaced sidewalls having one or more webs extending therebetween. Each sidewall comprises a flange extending from a first edge region of the sidewall. The first 5 edge flange comprises a pair of spaced flange portions. At least one flange portion comprises a longitudinal ridge projecting laterally therefrom. Each sidewall also comprises two flanges extending from a second edge region of the sidewall. The second edge flanges form a recess therebetween. The recess comprises a longitudinal groove extending along the recess. The groove is arranged for receipt of the ridge of a flange portion of a like component. In use, the 0 component may be coupled to a like component by interdigitation of the first edge flange with a recess of the like component, such that the ridge is received in the groove to prevent relative lateral movement of the components away from one another.
