A barrier, such as a shark barrier, comprising a plurality of pylons spaced apart with respect to each other, and a mesh extending between the pylons wherein the mesh comprises a plurality of modules adapted to be attached to each other. In an arrangement the mesh is adapted to adjust to account for tidal changes and movement of water.
