The plumbing fitting has a plurality of ports for coupling to fluid conveying pipes, wherein the configuration of ports define an impact area having the greatest likelihood of damage by inserted cleaning 5 apparatus, in use. The plumbing fitting includes a strengthened reinforcement over the impact area thereof so as to increase resistance to said damage. The strengthened reinforcement may comprise an area of thickened material over the impact area sufficient to resist damage from a plunger or high-pressure cleaning apparatus when inserted into the fitting during use. The plumbing fitting may be fabricated by plastics moulding with 10 strengthened reinforcement integrally formed therewith or, alternatively, may be fabricated by plastics moulding with strengthened reinforcement formed from a different material and bonded thereto. -280 Fiqure12 -- 250 Figure 13
