- 14 A fixing cover 10 for an opening in a hollow structural panel comprises a surface plate 12 having a substantially planar upper surface 11 and a first aperture 14 therethrough. The fixing cover 10 further comprises an elongate member 16 having a second aperture 18 therethrough. The second aperture 18 is aligned with the first aperture 14. The fixing cover 10 further comprises a threaded element 20 having a head and a shaft. The shaft is received through the first aperture 14 and then through the second aperture 18, and is threadingly engaged with the second aperture 18. The fixing cover 10 further comprises blocking members 22, 24 configured to limit the rotation of the elongate member 16 relative to the surface plate 12. The blocking members 22, 24 guide the elongate member 16 towards and away from the surface plate 12 when the threaded element 20 is rotated relative to the surface plate 12. The fixing cover 10 allows relatively shorter mechanical fixings to be used to secure a hollow structural panel to a support. The fixing cover 10 can also be sufficiently and repeatedly secured to the hollow structural panel. 18 F IG 2 12
