Connecting the NEL to Eastern Freeway
Abstract The connections from Bulleen Road to the Eastern Freeway will be totally rebuilt. Lanes heading for the Freeway will swing east at Koonung Creek rising up and over Thompsons Road and then down to the existing entrance going east and the west bound lanes will remain elevated and fly over the freeway and join the freeway. Traffic going west on the Eastern Freeway will exit at the existing exit but will pass under the Bulleen Rd Bridge and then do a loop and come up and merge with the Bulleen Road north bound traffic. Traffic going east of the Freeway will exit at the existing exit but the Bulleen Road bound vehicles will swing around in an arc and merge with Bulleen Road traffic about 80 metres north of Thompsons Rd.
