The invention relates to an automatic irrigation system sustained by rainwater reservation from city road. The system comprises a water reservoir, a water pump, a power supply device, a sensor and a controller, wherein the water reservoir is located at the lower part of a roadside green belt, the water pump is located beside the side wall of the reservoir where it connects the reservoir and green belt by pipe, the sensor collects the temperature data of the green belt, the power supply device is connected to the reservoir, the controller respectively connects and the sensor and the power supply device, the controller collects the temperature and humidity data, it controls the power supply device to give power to the water pump based on the data collected, the pump irrigates the green belt with the rainwater reserved.
