A sill mountable roller assembly includes an inner housing, an outer housing and a roller wheel. The roller wheel is retained within the inner housing, and the inner housing is resiliently retained in the outer housing such that the roller wheel and inner housing are moveable relative to the outer housing when a force is applied to the roller wheel by a sliding panel. A system is also provided for a sliding panel assembly, comprising a plurality of such roller assemblies, wherein each of the roller assemblies is mounted within spaced apart recesses of a sill. The roller assemblies are configured such that when a sliding panel is placed on the roller assemblies and a respective force is applied to each of the roller assemblies the lower edge of the sliding panel is held in a substantially horizontal configuration in contact with each of the roller wheels.
