A transmission system is provided for installation within a frame of a movable closure, the transmission system configured to receive power produced by a motor to drive a wheel associated with the movable closure, the transmission system including a first belt arranged on a first side of the wheel and a second belt arranged on a second, opposing side of the wheel, wherein the combined movement of the first and second belt drive the wheel. Also provided is a movable closure assembly, including a frame and a belt transmission system including a first pulley, a second pulley and a belt operatively engaged with the first and second pulleys, the first pulley having a first axis of rotation and the second pulley having a second axis of rotation, the first axis of rotation and the second axis of rotation being non-parallel to one another, wherein the belt transmission system is fully or substantially contained within the frame.
