- 19 A multipurpose spacer for concrete slab construction is provided having an elongate body, a base perimeter and a plurality of arches joining between sides of the base and 5 defining a top support surface spaced above the base to support reinforcing steel. The body is further hingedly coupled such that the first and second ends of the elongate body can pivot towards each other from an initial extended condition to a second closed condition along the hinge line.
