AN EARTHQUAKE-RESISTANT PRECAST BEAM-COLUMN CONNECTION USING CLEAT ANGLE AND REPLACEABLE DISSIPATERS
The present invention generally relates to an earthquake-resistant precast beam-column connection using cleat angle and replaceable dissipaters. It comprises a beam element and a column element attached at a beam column interface region by a connection assembly. Here, the connection assembly comprises of a cleat angle, a stiffener, dissipaters, and washer plates. The column element is a prefabricated vertical concrete structure and comprises of a corbel and a dowel bar. The beam element is a prefabricated horizontal concrete structure attached to the longitudinal side of the column element and comprises of a channel section and steel duct. The plurality of dissipaters is used for dissipation of seismic energy during a seismic event. Also, the dissipater can be replaced from the earthquake-resistant precast beam-column connection, when fractured due to the seismic event.
