Abstract Cavity Fire Barrier An intumescent cover plate for use with a masonry support bracket, comprising a profiled plate formed from a non-combustible material to which an intumescent material is applied. The profiled plate being configured to fit within the bracket of a masonry support, such that when exposed to fire, heat or smoke the intumescent cover plate closes the cavity within the bracket to slow down the spread of fire.
