Thermal Bridging Skylight System
There is disclosed a thermal barrier of a skylight; the thermal barrier forming an internal lining of inward facing surfaces only of a perimeter structure of the skylight, characterised in that the thermal barrier includes an integral, horizontally extending cap located between the perimeter structure of the skylight and a glazed cover. Also disclosed is a method of minimising energy transfer between an exterior of a skylight and the interior space of the skylight; the method including the steps of: - forming a thermal barrier comprising of generally vertical sheet or extruded polymer or polymer nanocomposite material and an outwardly extending integral cap extending generally horizontally from an upper portion of the sheet or extruded polymer or polymer nanocomposite material, - positioning the sheet or extruded polymer or polymer nanocomposite material in contact with inward facing surfaces of a perimeter structure and such that the cap extends over an upper portion of the perimeter structure; the cap extending between the upper portion of the perimeter structure and a glazed cover of the skylight. 6% 26F 24 31- 28 364 '30 Fig. 1
