A coupling device for joining adjacent first and second concrete elements. The device includes a housing 9 for embedding in the first concrete element, a movable bridging element 21 mounted within the housing 9, and an actuating mechanism 33 for moving the bridging element 21 to an extended position in which at least part of the bridging element 21 projects out of the housing 9, and in use, into a receptacle in the second concrete element, wherein the housing 9 and the receptacle collectively define a chamber configured to be filled with grout to retain the bridging element 21 in the extended position and secure the two concrete elements together.
