A collapsible void former for use in forming voids in concrete structures, such as concrete slabs is provided. The collapsible void former comprises: a plurality of sections arranged in an intersecting arrangement, the plurality of sections movable between an expanded and collapsed configuration, the plurality of sections defining a grid in the expanded configuration; and a cover, configurable to at least partly cover the grid.
