Abstract A foundation sleeve for a post including an elongated tube body of substantially obround cross-section, the body having an open end which is adapted to receive a post into the body and an opposite end partially closed to form a figure of eight cross-section or a wavy terminus so as to shape the end of the sleeve for insertion into the ground, characterized in that the tube body, at a predetermined distance from its upper edge, includes a laterally extending post support.
