FLOATING, SELF-PROPELLING, SELF-BALLASTING PIVOTABLE BRIDGE
A floating, self-propelling, self-ballasting, pivotable bridge system is described. The bridge has a main bridge body with a pontoon-like structure. One end of the bridge has a pivoting system comprising complementary pivot plates, one attached to the bridge and the other on land with a pivot pin attaching them at a pivot point. The other end of the bridge has a releasable locking mechanism. The bridge has ballast tanks for raising and lowering its level in the water. The bridge also has thrusters for propelling itself through the water when it pivots from a closed position spanning a waterway to an open position allowing boat traffic through a waterway.
Un mécanisme de pont pivotant, flottant, autopropulsé, à ballastage automatique est décrit. Le pont présente un corps de pont principal doté dune structure de type ponton. Une extrémité du pont présente un système pivotant comportant des plaques de pivot complémentaires, une fixée au pont et lautre sur la terre au moyen dune tige de pivot les fixant à un point de pivot. Lautre extrémité du pont présente un mécanisme de verrouillage libérable. Le pont comporte des réservoirs de ballast servant à relever et à abaisser son niveau dans leau. Le pont comporte également des propulseurs servant à le propulser dans leau lorsquil pivote dune position fermée sétendant sur une voie deau à une position ouverte permettant la circulation de bateau sur la voie deau.
