PANELS FOR THE INTERIOR SURFACES OF BUILDINGS
An interior surface panel such as a ceiling tile is free of PVC materials and otherwise possesses desirable properties that make it suitable for installation in a variety of environments including schools, household and commercial kitchens and healthcare facilities. The panel can include a base mat and a facing material of a polyolefin or polyester polymer or copolymer bonded to the base mat. The facing material is resistant to ultraviolet light and possesses superior scrubbability. The PVC-free facing has a preferred thickness, opacity and surface roughness and a texture pattern that is non-directional and discontinuous. In an embodiment in which the PVC-free facing is white, it has a preferred light reflectance. The PVC-free facing is resistant to deformation under tension. In addition, the facing has low anisotropy; that is, the facing exhibits minimal differences in its physical properties in different directions. The facing also has good dimensional stability.
La présente invention concerne un panneau de surface intérieure telle qu'une dalle de plafond exempt de matériaux PVC et possédant par ailleurs des propriétés souhaitables qui le rend approprié dans une variété d'environnements comprenant des écoles, des cuisines domestiques ou commerciales et des installations de soins de santé. Le panneau peut comporter un mat de base et un matériau de parement d'un polymère ou copolymère polyoléfine ou polyester collé au mat de base. Le matériau de parement est résistant à la lumière ultraviolette et possède une aptitude au lavage supérieure. Le parement exempt de PVC présente une épaisseur, une opacité et une rugosité de surface préférées et un motif de texture qui est non directionnel et discontinu. Selon un mode de réalisation, dans lequel le parement exempt de PVC est blanc, il possède un facteur de réflexion de lumière préféré. Le parement exempt de PVC est résistant à la déformation sous tension. En outre, le parement présente une faible anisotropie, c'est-à-dire le parement présente des différences minimales dans ses propriétés physiques dans des directions différentes. Le parement possède également une bonne stabilité dimensionnelle.
