CARPET SEAM TAPE AND METHOD FOR JOINING CARPET
A carpet seam tape is provided for joining two carpet segments which will resist lifting of the seam off the floor known as peaking or profiling of the carpet seam when the carpet segments are positioned to cover the entire floor and the carpet is stretched at the outer edges and secured to the floor using tack strips. The seam tape comprises an elongated base layer that is resilient in a transverse direction, and may comprise a resilient textile such as cotton and elastane. An adhesive is applied to the base layer. A method for joining two carpet segments comprises abutting one edge of one carpet segment with one edge of the other carpet segment; positioning a length of seam tape under the abutting edges, and activating the adhesive to secure the seam tape to the undersides of both carpet segments.
Un galon pour joints de tapis est décrit pour joindre deux segments de tapis qui résisteront au levage du joint du plancher, ce quon appelle aussi la pointe ou le profilage du joint de tapis lorsque les segments de tapis sont positionnés pour couvrir tout le plancher et le tapis est étiré aux bords extérieurs et fixé au plancher à laide de plombs à picot. Le joint de tapis comprend une couche de base allongée qui est résiliente dans une direction transversale et peut comprendre un textile résilient comme du coton ou de lélasthanne. Un adhésif est appliqué sur la couche de base. Un procédé pour joindre deux segments de tapis consiste à venir en butée contre un bord dun segment de tapis avec un bord de lautre segment de tapis; à positionner une longueur de la bande adhésive sous les bords contigus, et à activer ladhésif pour fixer la bande adhésive à la face inférieure des deux segments de tapis.
