A versatile panel system for decorative purposes. The panel may take any shape and include indicia or texture, light fixtures, telecommunication fixtures inter alia. The system includes magnetic material either on a supporting surface to which the panel may be positioned or on the panel itself and a magnet separately for positioning between magnetic surfaces. The magnet may also be incorporated into an adhesive tape to allow a user to position the tape on a supporting surface such as a ceiling joist. The system also allows for trim applications such as baseboard, crown moulding, wainscoting, etc.
