FASTENING SYSTEM ALLOWING COMPONENT REMOVAL AFTER FASTENER SYSTEM FAILURE
A fastening system for attaching a cover to an underground vault having a bolt with threads and a composite fiber reinforced polymer nut having a thread engagement portion extending through the nut which will fail in shear after the bolt is inserted before the nut and bolt seize. The fastening system can also include a nut retainer sized to allow the nut to float within the retainer.
Un système de fixation pour fixer un couvercle à une chambre forte souterraine comportant un boulon avec des filets et un écrou en polymère renforcé de fibres composites présentant une partie de mise en prise de filetage sétendant à travers lécrou qui rompra par cisaillement une fois le boulon inséré avant que lécrou et le boulon ne grippent. Le système de fixation peut également comprendre un frein décrou dimensionné de manière à permettre à lécrou de flotter dans le frein.
