THERMAL INSULATING AND SEALING MEANS FOR A SAFING SLOT IN A CURTAIN WALL
Described is a construction for effectively thermally insulating and sealing of a safing slot (1) between a floor (5) of a building and an exterior wall construction (2) wherein the exterior wall construction (2) comprises a curtain wall (2) configuration utilizing an interior panel (4) module design. The Thermal insulating and sealing means includes a supplemental insulation means (11) positioned above the primary insulation means (7) and attached to the interior panel (4) of a curtain wall construction (2) to maintain thermally insulating and sealing of the safing slot (1) during exposure to fire and heat which can cause the interior panel (4) to deform from heat distorting to an extent beyond the capability of standard safing insulation (7) for expanding in order to maintain a proper seal extending across the safing slot (1).
La présente invention concerne une construction pour efficacement isoler thermiquement et étanchéifier une fente de sécurité (1) entre un plancher (5) d'un bâtiment et une construction murale extérieure (2), la construction mural extérieure (2) comprenant une configuration à mur rideau (2) qui utilise une conception de module d'un panneau intérieur (4). Le moyen d'isolation thermique et d'étanchéité comprend un moyen d'isolation supplémentaire (11) positionné au-dessus du moyen d'isolation primaire (7) et fixé au panneau intérieur (4) d'une construction de mur rideau (2) pour maintenir l'isolation thermique et l'étanchéité de la fente de sécurité (1) durant l'exposition à un incendie et à la chaleur qui peut faire en sorte que le panneau intérieur (4) se déforme en raison de déformation thermique dans une mesure supérieure à la capacité d'isolation de sécurité standard (7) pour se dilater afin de maintenir une étanchéité adéquate qui s'étend à travers la fente de sécurité (1).
