The receptacle (110) includes a vacuum device (202), a cavity (204) for receiving an article of clothing, a container (206) to surround the vacuum device (202) and the cavity (204), and a door (208) coupled to a side of the container (206). Activating the vacuum device (202) seals the door (208). A first end of the chute (120) is coupled to the receptacle (110) and protrudes away from the receptacle (110). The at least one closure (130) is detachably coupleable to a second end of each chute (120). The closure (130) includes a sealing component (504) detachably coupleable to the second end of the chute (120), and an activator (508) mounted to the sealing component (504) to activate the vacuum device (202) in response to a pre-defined condition.
