The invention concerns an outdoor window that is employed for closing an opening of a building. The window comprises a movable sash which is connected to a fixed frame by means of a hinge having a first wing fixed to the movable sash and a second wing fixed to a projecting portion of a bracket connected to the fixed frame. The projecting portion of the bracket carries the second wing of the hinge so that the distance between the fixed frame and the pivot of the hinge is greater or equal to the width of the first wing of the hinge. This enables to arrange the hinge with the wings adjacent to each other when the movable sash is closed, so that the hinge and the upright of the sash occupy an extremely limited volume and can be hidden by a protective section bar having a small width.
