STEEL-FRAMED WALL PANELS CONNECTION AND SEALING SYSTEM
The purpose of this document is to provide necessary technical information for registration of the patent of interconnection and sealing system between modules and walls panels in our business portion of prefabricated building parts. Our representative can use this document to follow needed activities with related authorities such as the Canadian Intellectual Properties Office, CIPO, on behalf of Robo Steel prefab. Robo Steel Prefab company is an innovative company based in Durham Region. Our core competitive advantage is utilizing Robotic as well as other High-Tech automation processes to produce cheaper, safer and more precise steel structures, steel-framed sandwich panels and other building materials. All these make the production of panelized and modular prefabricated buildings one of our main business lines. To protect our intellectual properties such as robotic production process and detailed drawing of product on this business line, we plan to register some of the important ones as patents 2- Abstract Using our robotic production line enable us to produce prefabricated modules and wall panels with precise dimension, internal structure and insulation and piping and conduit pre-assembled. This document consists of all technical drawings and information about walls' connection and sealing systems used in our prefabricated products. These products can be in the shape of modules such as kitchen, services and stairways modules or wall panels. This pattern, combined with our other manufacturing and connecting patents, ensures an integrated robust structure to resists different loads and protecting the entire building against outside environmental conditions and provide quick assembling of sealed walls. Using this patent, modules' and individual walls consist of lightweight galvanized steel profiles fabricated by our robotic production line are tightened, sealed and form an integrated structure for entire building. After assembling the interior finishing plate and installing piping and cabling inside panels, they fill with expandable foam, and then the exterior side to be covered by exterior finishing cladding. In the drawings, three sections of connection edges of wall panels have shown. Modules construction is so that a female profile places in front of a male profile in the connection line. Two longitudinal grooves have been formed in the manufacturing of these profiles to place rubber seal strips on both sides of the connection, interior and exterior sides. The sealing system has other components; a middle rubber seal strip with a thickness more than the gap between female and male profiles. This combination besides self-alignment and uniform pushing provided by Easy alignment projection and Tongue and crotch provide ultimate sealing efficiency of our connection. Through holes have considered in manufacturing of both female and male profiles. They are designed to make paths for passing piping and cabling conduit as well as to keep the profiles lighter. A Left/Right turn stud bolt with hexagonal head in the middle with Right-turn nut and Left-turn nut have the duty of easy and fast tightening of wall panels and modules on the top point, simply using an open flex-head electrical ratchet wrench. This highly speeds up on-site assembling of our prefabricated building. Furthermore, beside the other RSP's patent; fast locking/ tightening bottom/ wall joints, this ensure a robust and integrated load- laying internal structure for entire building. 3- Background of the patent Prefabrication of building history backs to 19s when many of the initial communities formed by migrant in Australia and Canada was built by prefabricated and wooden frame houses brought from motherlands. In the past quarter, thanks to facility provided by technology, we are witnessing an evolution in quality, precision and speed in construction of this kind of building. This has increased owners demand for this building, and so builder's tendency to protect their intellectual properties. Therefore, we can find many patents addressing fabricating, sealing and tightening different parts of these buildings. For example, the patent US4956953; date 18/Sep/1990, by Norman H. Bates, on the subject of "Office panel system incorporating improved locking and alignment mechanism" is about wooden frame panels of the type used in an office panel system are provided with longitudinal grooves at the ends thereof, the grooves receiving a tube in such relationship that the tube can seat snugly in both grooves, and that the tube can rotate about its longitudinal axis. No sealing feature is not desired in this patent.
