The invention relates to a lightweight artificial quartz stone which comprises the following raw materials: a 0.045-5 mm particle raw material; a 0.005-0.045 mm quartz powder; a colored pigment; a silane coupling agent; unsaturated polyester resin; expandable micro-beads; and a curing agent, wherein the particle raw material is quartz particles or glass particles, or a mixture of quartz particles and glass particles. The lightweight artificial quartz stone allows the expandable micro-beads to be applied in the artificial quartz stone, shrinkage and warp of the product is reduced, a quartz stone plate is endowed with low density, small thermal conductivity, high-temperature resistance, wear resistance, corrosion resistance and other excellent properties, the expandable micro-beads have quite high filling performance, the use amount of resin is greatly reduced, and costs are reduced.
