The invention provides a heat insulating real stone paint and a preparation method thereof. The heat insulating real stone paint contains the following components in parts by mass: 65-76 parts of natural colored sand, 5-10 parts of an energy storage material, 18-22 parts of a bonding agent, 0.5-1.1 parts of a coalescing agent, 0.2-0.4 part of a bactericide, 0.4-0.6 part of an antifreezing agent and 2-8 parts of water. The heat insulating real stone paint provided by the invention has heat insulation and heat preservation functions on the premise that the decorative effect and protection performance of the product are not influenced, so that a new method and a new way for improving the heat insulation and heat preservation functions of products in the field of coatings are provided. The preparation method of the heat insulating real stone paint, provided by the invention, comprises the following steps: performing physical dispersion on the energy storage material and the natural colored sand serving as dispersed phases in a dispersant formed by the bonding agent and other auxiliary components, and stirring at a speed of 300-500 revolutions/minute to ensure that the dispersant can be uniformly coated on the outer surfaces of energy storage material particles and natural colored sand particles, thereby improving the adhesive force of the energy storage material and the natural colored sand.
