The invention provides an elevator type underground parking garage. The underground parking garage comprises an underground elevator shaft which is communicated with the ground, an elevator garage which is converted from an elevator and is capable of vertically moving in the elevator shaft, a control chamber which is arranged on one side of the elevator shaft and used for controlling the vertical movement of the elevator garage, and control switches which are arranged at the exits of the elevator garage, wherein the elevator garage is an elevator-like frame structure formed by welding square steel bars, a plurality of parking layer chambers are formed by uniformly dividing the elevator garage by baffle plates from the top to the bottom, and a spring cushion is arranged on the bottom of the elevator shaft; the elevator shaft is provided with a plurality of garages corresponding to the parking layer chambers on one side of the elevator garage, and when the elevator garage is at the lowest point, and the bottoms of the parking layer chambers and the bottoms of the garages are arranged in the same parallel straight lines. The elevator type underground parking garage is simple in structure, practical and convenient, is easy to build or change, does not occupy the ground resources, can be manufactured anywhere and facilitates parking, and thus the problems such as parking difficulty and traffic jams can be alleviated.
