The invention discloses a capsule expanded body detection device used for a capsule type expanded body anchor rod. The capsule expanded body detection device comprises a measuring lead wire, two lead wire fixing ends and two signal transmission lead wires, wherein the two lead wire fixing ends are fixed on inner walls of the two ends of a certain expanded wire with the maximum diameter of a capsule body of the capsule type expanded body anchor rod; the two ends of the measuring lead wire are fixed on the two lead wire fixing ends respectively; the length of the measuring lead wire is equal to the designed length of an expanded head of the capsule type expanded body anchor rod and is smaller than the maximal diameter length of the expanded capsule body; the two signal transmission lead wires are connected with the two ends of the measuring lead wire at the two lead wire fixing ends respectively and extend to the ground; when the capsule body is expanded until the measuring lead wire is completely straightened and the capsule body is continuously expanded, the two ends of the measuring lead wire are easy to snap. The invention further discloses a capsule expanded body detection method used for the capsule type expanded body anchor rod. The capsule expanded body detection device and method have the beneficial effects that whether the capsule body is expanded or not can be judged and whether the expanding size reaches the design specification or not is judged.
