The invention relates to the field of refrigerators, in particular to a hinge device and a refrigerator with the hinge device. The hinge device used for the refrigerator is disclosed to solve the problems of the prior art that because the closing structure in the form of a clamping hook is adopted for most of refrigerator doors, wear-out failures easily occur and noise is generated. The hinge device comprises a hinge body, a hinge shaft, a hinge sleeve, a door closing unit, a pin shaft, an elastic element and a stopping and blocking piece, wherein a protruding portion is formed at the top end of the pin shaft, the protruding portion is provided with a smooth slope and corresponds to a groove formed in the bottom of a refrigerator door body, the pin shaft is sleeved with the elastic element, the elastic element is located on the hinge body so as to support and guide the pin shaft to move up and down in a through hole, and a guide portion is formed in the bottom of the refrigerator door body and used for guiding the protruding portion at the top end of the pin shaft into the groove. According to the hinge device, the unclosed state of the door body can be well and automatically converted into the closed state in a small distance range, and therefore cool air inside the refrigerator can be effectively prevented from leaking, and the use effect of the refrigerator is ensured.
