The invention provides ring type rainbow blinds capable of compensating the height and a height compensation method thereof. The ring type rainbow blinds comprise an upper rod, a lower rod and a ring type cord fabric; the ring type cord fabric correspondingly covers a preset covering area of a window, comprising a rainbow blinds part composed of a plurality of rainbow blinds units, and a compensating part for compensating the height; the rainbow blinds part and the compensating part are connected to form a full ring or a half ring which is vertically coiled between the upper rod and the lower rod to form a front cord fabric and a rear cord fabric which have the same height and are opposite to the front and back; each rainbow blinds unit comprises a transparent section and a nontransparent section which are adjacent to each other; the net length or net height of the compensating part can be preset to enable the total length of the connected ring type cord fabric to be equal to the sum of the total length of the rainbow blinds part and the net length of at least one compensating part, as well as enabling the height of the front/ back cord fabric is nearly close to half of the total length of the ring type cord fabric after height compensation and correspondingly meet the preset height of the preset covering area of the window, so as to expand the applicable scope and increase the use efficiency of the ring type rainbow blinds.
