The invention discloses a preparing method of a modified carboxylic acid cement grinding aid and belongs to the technical field of building materials. The preparing method comprises the following steps: adding maleic acid, diethanolisopropanolamine, sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate, polyethylene glycol, 2-ethly-2-hydroxymethyl-1,3-propanediol, sodium tripolyphosphate, a catalyst and an initiator into a reaction still, agitating and raising the temperature to 80 DEG C for carrying out esterification reaction, maintaining the reaction temperature for 3.5-4.5 hours, and raising the temperature to 150 DEG C for carrying out polymerization reaction so as to obtain a polycarboxylic acid cement grinding aid; after the reaction is finished, adding organosilicone-modified polyacrylate and sodium persulfate to obtain a modified polycarboxylic acid cement grinding aid. The cement grinding aid is good in stability and liquidity, effectively neutralizes active sites caused by ion key breakage in the cement powder grinding process, and meanwhile, greatly improves the compatibility with cement. The use quantity can be reduced by 10-25%.
