The invention relates to a manufacturing method of a clay insulating refractory brick. The invention is characterized in that the clay insulating refractory brick is prepared from the following raw materials in parts by mass: 20-30 parts of clay, 40-60 parts of silica powder, 15-25 parts of bauxite, 3-5 parts of sodium silicate and 10-15 parts of glass fiber. The manufacturing method comprises the following steps: respectively pulverizing the clay, silica powder and bauxite until the particle size is less than 0.1mm; mixing the powders according to the parts by mass, adding 20-30 parts by mass of water, stirring uniformly, and aging for 1-2 days; adding the sodium silicate and glass fiber into the aged material, stirring uniformly, and stacking for 6-8 hours; and baking the raw materials at 80-90 DEG C for 8-10 hours, and carrying out sintering forming at 1100-1150 DEG C. By adopting the glass fiber and reasonable proportioning, the insulating property of the clay insulating refractory brick is enhanced, and the strength is also greatly enhanced.
