The invention discloses a method for standardizing door and window openings of a building. The method comprises a design step according to a size and modulus classification method for door and window openings; the design step comprises: firstly, choosing beam depths for the height of the door and window openings according to the requirements on three kinds of building facades; and secondly, choosing the corresponding size for the width of the door and window openings according to the specific usage functions and width of rooms, wherein the size and modulus classification method for door and window openings comprises height classification of door and window openings and width classification of door and window openings. With adoption of a size and modulus classification table of standardized door and window openings, the standardization and modularization design is realized; and the method avoids the indirect and great improvement of the cost of doors and windows, resulting from the unfavorable situations such as shortage of ventilating areas, non-attractive window type and diversity of door and window specifications caused by irrational design and division, at the source of the design.
