The invention relates to a production method of a steel slag aggregate for asphalt concrete and belongs to the technical fields of processing and production of road aggregates. The production method particularly comprises the steps of feeding, crushing, sieving and water washing. According to the production method, steel slag raw materials are subjected to second-grade crushing, three times of magnetic separation processes and five times of sieving processes so as to separate aggregates of different specifications; the surfaces of the aggregates are cleaned with high pressure water, and a five-stage settling pond is arranged to circularly utilize flushing water. According to the production method, the problems that a steel slag aggregate product produced by virtue of a traditional production process is large in specification variability, poor in angularity and high in silt content are solved, the high-efficiency production is realized, and the high-quality steel slag aggregate for the asphalt concrete is produced.
