The invention relates to a preparation method for a xonotlite type adapter plate material for casting aluminum. The preparation method comprises the following steps: by taking xonotlite prepared by a dynamic hydrothermal synthesis method as a raw material, adding a certain amount of glass fibers or carbon fibers, reinforced fibers and slaked lime, wherein the mass fraction of xonotlite is 85-95%, the mass fraction of glass fibers or carbon fibers is 3%-10% and the mass fraction of slaked lime is 2%-5%; uniformly mixing and putting into a mould, and pressing and molding under pressure of 20-100 MPa; putting into an autoclaving kettle to perform autoclaving for 2-6 hours at 150-220 DEG C under pressure of 0.8-1.5 MPa after molding, and drying the autoclaved product; and mechanically processing the autoclaved product into a product according to the specific needs. The prepared product has density of 800-1100kg/m<3>, bending strength of 8-12 MPa and a highest using temperature up to 1000 DEG C. The xonotlite type adapter plate material for casting aluminum is light in mass, high in strength, high-temperature-resistant, excellent in thermal insulation performance and suitable for precision mechanical processing.
