The invention discloses a harmless utilization method for sludge produced by mononitrotoluene, belonging to a harmless and recycling cyclic utilization technology of solid hazardous waste. The harmless utilization method comprises the following steps: weighing the sludge produced by mononitrotoluene, bentonite or bentonite tailings by weight, grinding, stirring and uniformly mixing to obtain a mixture, putting the mixture into a special environment to extrude and pelletize after fermentation to prepare a ceramsite preform body; and then, drying the ceramsite preform body, roasting at a high temperature and sintering and expanding the preform body into ceramsite, cooling to the normal temperature, revolving a kettle to preferably select cavings as fuels. The ceramsite produced by the harmless utilization method disclosed by the invention meets the standard requirements of national lightweight aggregate building materials, not only effectively realizes harmless treatment to the sludge produced in a mononitrotoluene production process, but also recycles the bentonite tailings, so that the discharge is effectively controlled in the whole process, the secondary pollution is not produced, and the economic benefits and the social benefits are synchronously improved.
