The invention relates to a single-phase multiferroic M-type lead ferrite ceramic material and a preparation method thereof. The chemical formula of the single-phase multiferroic M-type lead ferrite ceramic material is PbFe12O19, a hexagonal crystal system; the space group is P63/mmc; the molecular weight is 1181.2610; the single-phase multiferroic M-type lead ferrite ceramic material simultaneously has favorable ferroelectricity and ferromagnetism at room temperature, and is practical; the crystal particles of the single-phase multiferroic M-type lead ferrite ceramic material are distributed uniformly, the average crystal particle is 1-5mu m and the color of the crystal particles is dark red to red brown; and the single-phase M-type lead ferrite PbFe12O19 material which simultaneously has ferroelectricity and ferromagnetism is applied to the field of multiferroic. The single-phase multiferroic M-type lead ferrite ceramic material has the beneficial effects that the prepared M-type lead ferrite ceramic material has multiferroic and has good ferroelectricity and ferromagnetism at room temperature; the average particle size of the crystal particles is about 0.5-3mu m; and the particles are distributed uniformly.
