The invention discloses a movable hollow heat preservation method of a building exterior wall. The method is characterized in that the surface of an exterior wall (1) is moveably pressed and covered with a hollow sealed plastic bag or plastic box (4) containing heat-preservation gas by virtue of a pressing plate (6) which is movably fixed on the exterior wall (1) and is elastically telescopic in the direction vertical to the exterior wall through a rigid flame-retardant board (5) so as to form a movable hollow heat preservation layer of the exterior wall; when the volume of the heat-preservation gas in the hollow sealed plastic bag or plastic box (4) varies along with the change in temperature, the thickness of the hollow sealed plastic bag or plastic box (4) is automatically regulated to avoid high-pressure gas leakage in the case of the expansion of the hollow sealed plastic bag or plastic box (4) or to avoid the deformation of the rigid flame-retardant board (5) on the outer side; and the method can also prevent the rigid flame-retardant board (5) from becoming loosen in the case that cold-contracted hollow sealed plastic bag or plastic box (4) releases from rigid constrain surfaces on two sides.
