The invention provides a combined square steel pipe concrete column and a construction method. The combined square steel pipe concrete column comprises L-shaped half steel pipes, pins, vertical rods, a transverse rod and concrete; two rows of pins are arranged on the inner wall of each of the L-shaped half steel pipes; the vertical rods are connected through the traverse rod and clamped into the two rows of pins; two L-shaped half steel pipes are welded into a square steel pipe in which the concrete is poured; when constructing the column, a steel plate is processed into the L-shaped half steel pipes, the pins are welded on the inner walls of the L-shaped half steel pipes, the transverse rod is welded between the two vertical rods, the two L-shaped half steel pipes are integrally buckled, and the vertical rods are inserted into the pins, so as to weld the two L-shaped half steel pipes into a whole, and moreover, the concrete is poured into the square steel pipe. The combined square steel pipe concrete column can overcome the shortage of a square steel pipe concrete column and has the advantages of being high in bearing capacity and high in fire resistance; the construction method can solve the problem of difficult construction of the inside of the square steel pipe.
