The invention discloses a preparation method for a building brick. The preparation method comprises the following steps: crushing calcareous shale in a certain proportion into calcareous shale powder through a high-speed centrifugal jet mill; uniformly mixing cement, coal ash, mountain flour powder and calcareous shale powder, then adding water and stirring to obtain slurry, putting the slurry into a mould to vibrate and mould, standing for 3 hours, de-molding to obtain a brick base, standing and conserving the brick base for 2 days; firstly drying the brick base for 2 hours at 450 DEG C, and putting the brick base onto a cushion plate through a vacuum absorber, putting the brick base and the cushion plate into a roller kiln for sintering at a temperature of 1200 DEG C, and sintering for one hour to obtain the building brick. According to the preparation method disclosed by the invention, the industrial waste residuals and the wastes are sufficiently utilized, so that the cost of the production raw materials is reduced, the environmental pollution is reduced, and the prepared building brick is good in performance, has tensile strength of 20 Mpa and a water absorption rate of 10%.
