The invention discloses an inner wall coating and a preparation method thereof, and relates to the technical field of water-based coatings. The inner wall coating is prepared from the following components in parts by weight: 8 to 10 parts of polyvinyl alcohol, 1.5 to 2 parts of sodium alkyl benzene sulfonate, 10 to 13 parts of sodium silicate, 7 to 10 parts of lithopone, 8 to 10 parts of talcum powder, 40 to 50 parts of light calcium carbonate, 1 to 1.5 parts of 1, 2-benzisothiazolin-3-ketone, and 130 to 150 parts of pure water. The preparation method comprises the following steps: adding the pure water to a reaction kettle; adding polyvinyl alcohol; regulating the temperature; agitating until completely dissolving; cooling; adding sodium alkyl benzene sulfonate; agitating; cooling; adding sodium silicate; agitating until white colloid is generated; sequentially adding lithopone, the talcum powder, light calcium carbonate and 1, 2-benzisothiazolin-3-ketone to fully react. The inner wall coating is high in ageing resistance.
