The invention discloses a preparation method of a silicon and mullite brick. The preparation method comprises the following steps: uniformly stirring and mixing bauxite, metal silicon powder and spent pulping liquor in a certain proportion to obtain slurry; putting the obtained slurry into a die for vibration molding, standing for 3 hours, demolding to obtain a green blank and then standing and preserving for two days; and firstly drying the green brick for 2 hours at 400 DEG C, then putting the green brick on a base plate through a vacuum adsorber, and feeding the green brick on the base plate and the base plate tougher into a roller kiln and firing for 1 hour at 1200 DEG C to obtain the silicon and mullite brick. The silicon and mullite brick is simple in preparation process, and one of the raw materials spent pulping liquor is low in price, so that the production cost of the silicon and mullite brick is lowered. Moreover, the prepared silicon and mullite brick is good in wear resistance, and the compressive strength is greater than 108Mpa and the refractoriness is greater than 1800 DEG C.
