The invention discloses a method and a system for monitoring foundation trench back silting in deep water, and relates to the field of water depth measurement. The method for monitoring the foundation trench back silting in the deep water comprises the following steps of acquiring the measurement heights between a floating sludge surface and a floating sludge bottom surface after a foundation trench is excavated and before the foundation trench is filled; calculating the foundation trench back silting amount and the thickness of back silting floating sludge according to the difference value between the measurement heights between the floating sludge surface and the floating sludge bottom surface after the foundation trench is excavated and before the foundation trench is filled. According to the method, the back silting situation of a foundation trench area is reflected accurately by measuring the water depths after the foundation trench is excavated and before the foundation trench is filled; compared with a diver measurement method, a density instrument method and a dual-frequency sounding instrument method, the method is low in cost, full in coverage, and can reflect the back silting situation more accurately.
