The invention discloses a road filling material prepared from building waste and coal gangue and a preparation method of the road filling material. The road filling material is prepared from the following raw materials based on total weight of the road filling material: 1-15% of active micro powder, 10-30% of coal gangue, 40-60% of a soil material separated from the building waste, and 0.02-0.06% of an activator. The road filling material disclosed by the invention can meet the road indication requirement, and enables the construction waste to be fully utilized.
