The invention discloses a method for preparing Sialon ceramic powder by taking kaolin as a raw material. The method comprises the following steps: selecting a kaolin raw material, cleaning, adding dodecylamine, stirring, centrifugally separating, adding graphite particles, applying electric fields, stirring, sintering and subsequently thermally processing. According to the technical scheme adopted by the invention, the kaolin is taken as the raw material for preparing Sialon ceramic powder and the nano graphite particles are taken as a reducing agent, so that molecular-level mixing is realized, the reducing efficiency is effectively improved, the reaction temperature is reduced and the reaction period is shortened. Beta'-Sialon powder which is uniform in crystalline phase, uniform in distribution and complete in reaction is obtained.
