The invention relates to a preparation method of a novel cation asphalt emulsifier, which takes xylene as a solvent, takes lauric acid and divinyl triammonium as raw materials, mol ratio of lauric acid to divinyl triammonium is 2: 3, amidation and cyclodehydration reactions are carried out for 5-6 hours at a temperature of 120-260 DEG C, excessive divinyl triammonium is removed through vacuum distillation to obtain the light-yellow transparent lauric acid imidazoline product, and the yield is no less than 93%. According to the invention, imidazoline product is reacted with a sodium chloroacetate solution to prepare the imidazoline quaternary-ammonium-salt ampholytic surfactant , CMC value of the target products is 4.56*10<-4>mol/L, value is small; and surface tension under critical micelle concentration is 26.43mN/m. The synthesized emulsifier is the slowing breaking asphalt emulsifier, which can be used for a bonding layer, a fog sealing layer and solvent-free cold mixing, and used for recovery/utilization of asphalt and bituminous pavement base stabilization.
