The invention belongs to the field of traffic automation, and particularly relates to a system for guiding vehicles on a highway in foggy environments. The system comprises a visibility detection instrument, dynamic node detectors, a zone controller, a monitoring center, a node controller and bicolor guidance lamps. The dynamic node detectors are equidistantly mounted on upright columns of guardrails on a side of the highway or horizontal columns of a bridge. The system has the advantages that advanced monitoring, guidance and computer technologies are organically combined with one another, passage guarantee intelligent information management platforms of fog zones are established, the vehicles which enter the fog zones can be intelligently guided, and colors of the bicolor guidance lamps can be changed under the control of the dynamic node detectors, so that the front and rear vehicles can be separated from one another by safety running distances which are required to be kept, and the vehicles can be intelligently guided when advancing; colors of a plurality of devices within the range behind each vehicle can be changed when the vehicle runs through the devices in foggy days, so that running information of the front vehicles can be timely acquired by the rear vehicles, and the system with the simple mechanical structure is extremely convenient to mount, maintain and detach.
